Matthew van Mourik
Matthew van Mourik
Matt founded ABA in 2011 with a passion for helping business owners understand and manage their finances. While he remains closely involved in guiding ABA’s direction, he now focuses more on working behind the scenes. Matt mentors the leadership team and supports complex advisory work, empowering the next generation of accountants to lead from the front.

Jaane Paul
Jaane Paul
JP has over 30 years of experience in the finance sector, where clients and colleagues are her driving force. She’s passionate about bringing smiles and laughter to the office while improving systems and processes. JP married her high school sweetheart and still cherishes the time she spends with him and her three adult children. In her free time, she enjoys simple pleasures: days at the beach, sport on TV and savouring a flat white coffee.

Katrina Hoiberg
Katrina is a passionate and knowledgeable Chartered Accountant with over 10 years’ experience. She prides herself on not being your typical accountant, looking forward in time as much as she looks back. Specialising in Small Business and SMSFs, her focus is on building genuine relationships with clients to help them achieve financial success. When not at work, Katrina leads an active lifestyle, chasing after her two daughters and enjoying walks on the beach.

Deanne Small
Deanne Small
Deanne moved up to the Sunshine Coast from Ballarat, Victoria in 1983 to escape the cold climate. Her passion as an accountant lies in helping clients achieve their goals, delving deep into the numbers to unlock insights and guide strategic decisions. Beyond the office, Deanne loves spending time with her family and exploring the serene Southern estuaries of the Pumicestone Passage, paddling with the tide to maximise tranquility and reduce effort! She’s also an avid reader who enjoys the likes of Stephen King and Liane Moriarty.
Samantha Cunnington
Samantha Cunnington
Originally from Noosa, Samantha has recently returned to the Sunshine Coast after several years in Melbourne, where she built strong experience working as an Accountant across a range of clients and industries. Sam brings an approachable, positive energy to the team and enjoys building genuine relationships with clients while supporting local businesses with clear, proactive advice and meticulous accounting support. Outside of work, Sam is also a qualified yoga teacher and has a strong passion for health and wellbeing — something that reflects her balanced, people-focused approach both professionally and personally.
Annice Lev
Annice Lev
Annice is a Chartered Accountant with over 15 years of experience in the industry. Having grown up in Coolum, she combines deep expertise with a genuine passion for helping Sunshine Coast businesses thrive. Annice is a true all-rounder in her field, with broad experience across a wide range of industries and business structures. She’s known for her honest, practical approach and will always share what she believes business owners need to know – not just what they want to hear. Annice is proactive in finding ways to legally minimise tax and enjoys breaking down complex information into clear, practical advice. Outside of work, Annice fully embraces life. She’ll dance even when there’s no music, and has recently returned to the Sunshine Coast after 14 months travelling Australia in a classic blue 1976 VW Kombi – no air-conditioning, no power steering, and plenty of adventure!
Ivana Markovic
Ivana Markovic
Ivana moved to Australia from Europe seven years ago and has spent the last four years working as a Self-Managed Super Fund accountant. She loves helping clients make the most of their super and thrives on the dynamic nature of super law, where there’s always something new to learn and apply. A proud mum of two children, Ivana loves spending time with her family. Her other passions include baking, playing volleyball or relaxing with a good book. She lives her philosophy of lifelong learning both personally and professionally.
Karen Howard
Karen Howard
UK native Karen, and her husband Ian, moved to the Sunshine Coast for the outdoor lifestyle and the sunny weather. She was a successful business manager in retail for almost 20 years before making her career change to accounting, and her leadership skills are a huge asset to ABA. Karen completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting in Australia, and is now studying for her CPA. She’s passionate about turtle conservation, volunteering on our local beaches where she loves to spend her free time, and her football team (Wigan Athletic) from back in the UK and watches every game she can no matter what time of the day it is!
Brayden Casamento
Brayden Casamento
Brayden grew up in Warrnambool, Victoria, before moving to the Sunshine Coast in 2020. Its the perfect spot for balancing working with numbers and competing as a professional Surf Ironman. He qualified for his first professional series this summer and pre-qualified for next year’s series with the Alexandra Headland Surf Club. When Brayden’s not swimming, paddling or running to prep for a comp, he loves watching sport, especially AFL. He’s a passionate Essendon supporter and likes nothing more than relaxing with mates and watching them play!
Niko Zhao
Niko Zhao
Niko is a CPA with over a decade of experience in accounting and finance. With a Master of Professional Accounting from Monash and a Bachelor of Economics and Finance from RMIT, she’s all about helping small businesses understand their numbers and optimise their tax. In her free time, she loves taking her energy and rhythm into the local community, volunteering as a dancer at multicultural events, playing the piano, shooting hoops or carving up the slopes on her snowboard.

Marc is a CPA-qualified accountant with over 15 years’ experience, bringing a broad depth of knowledge gained from working across multinational corporations, senior finance roles, and diverse Australian businesses. Prior to joining ABA, Marc held CFO-level positions within large organisations, giving him strong commercial insight and a practical, strategic approach to accounting and financial advice. Outside of work, Marc is a true wanderer at heart. He has travelled to more than 35 countries and, for the past seven years, has lived life on the road with his wife and their dog, Koda, working remotely while exploring Australia.
Shambhavi Khadilkar
Shambhavi Khadilkar
Shambhavi Khadilkar – Accountant – Shambhavi “Sham” is from Pune, India. She holds a Master of Commerce (M.Com) with a specialisation in Taxation and has 10 years of cross-border accounting experience, specialising in Australian accounting and tax, IFRS, financial reporting, compliance, and audit readiness. Outside of work, Sham loves spending time with her family — she’s a mom of two young daughters, and staycations are her favorite getaways these days.
Yogini Rao
Yogini Rao
Yogini is a Chartered Accountant from Pune, just outside Mumbai in India. Numbers and balance sheets have been her world for more than 14 years, with a background in audit, taxation, and overseas accounting, particularly Australian accounting. When she’s not immersed in finance, you’ll find her chasing mountain trails, soaking in the calm of beaches, or simply enjoying the open road. She’s also a mom to a curious 6‑year‑old boy, and spends her weekends hiking, cooking, or biking with her partner on peaceful routes.
Franck Amy
Franck Amy
Franck was born in France, and later trained as a chef, before moving to Australia in 2001. In 2006 he changed careers to bookkeeping, working by the motto that behind every successful business is a skilled bookkeeper! In his free time, Franck loves exercising his passion for sport by playing football and mountain bike riding. If he won the Lotto, he’d happily travel around the world for years!
Rebecca Irving
Rebecca Irving
Rebecca moved from Warrnambool, Victoria to the Sunshine Coast in 2005, following family and chasing year-round sunshine. With 12 years’ experience in the accounting industry, she’s worked her way from receptionist to bookkeeper, all while studying part-time. Rebecca also completed her Bachelor of Accounting in 2025 and brings a great mix of real-world experience and fresh academic insights. Beyond work, Rebecca’s busy cheering on her three kids at footy, athletics and squeezing in gym sessions, she also holds a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Mixed Martial Arts. She’s also a proud Essendon supporter, never missing a Bombers game!

Shan moved to the Sunshine Coast from West Gippsland in Victoria 8 years ago, so that she could enjoy the year-round warm, consistent weather. With an impressive 28-year career in accounting administration, she brings a wealth of experience and passion for client care to our team. An early riser, she enjoys regular gym sessions and sunrise walks. When she’s not strolling the coastline, Shan loves fishing with her teenage son on the picturesque Pumicestone Passage.

Narelle Skelly
Narelle’s background in administration roles across a range of sectors including construction, hospitality, and football, combined with her retail management experience, makes her an accounting administration powerhouse and a customer service super-star. Her dedication to ABA clients is only matched by her dedication to her daughters and sweet grandchildren. She loves to relax and watch sport, especially her favourite football team, the Matildas.
Takiyah Paul
Takiyah Paul
Takiyah joined ABA with a passion for business, after graduating from Meridan State High School. She’s gaining hands-on experience while studying her Diploma in Business. With a Cert III in Fitness and a love of sport, Takiyah plays netball and Oztag and cheers on her favourite NRL team with her family. When it’s time to unwind, she catches up with friends over dinner, browses through shops or heads to Kings Beach. There she enjoys sunset walks with her partner and their English Staffy who’s just as beach-obsessed as she is!
Zofia Nordqvist
Zofia Nordqvist
With a background in business coaching, a real passion for numbers, and a love for building strong relationships, Zofia is here to help connect with the right clients, learn about their goals, and support the growth of our community of ambitious business owners. Her coaching experience spans financial literacy, systems and processes, sales, marketing, recruitment, mindset and more, and she’s proud to have helped hundreds of business owners move closer to their goals in life and business and then push them further. Zofia is originally from Sweden but has called the Sunshine Coast home for the past 10 years. She’s a mum to a busy one-year-old boy, and when she has a spare moment, you might find her Latin dancing or browsing a Sunday market.

Amy has a delightful personality and a love for meeting new people. She’s the friendliest person you’ll meet and is always happy to help out. She is an avid sports fan, especially netball, and her dad was the coach of the Australian Men’s Kookaburras team. Amy helps take care of the ABA office and team each Tuesday. Her work with ABA is supported by The Community Collective QLD.
